How to get into selling Ranch Real Estate
Have you thought about getting into ranch real estate or land sales?
“Ranch Real Estate” is an industry-wide term that was coined by Capitol Ranch Real Estate in 2011. It describes the specialization of land and ranch sales over residential and commercial real estate sales. With the huge rise in popularity of land and ranch purchases, many real estate agents have moved toward a land-centric focus to represent their clients. Capitol Ranch Real Estate was setup in this fashion from the get-go in 2010. There are many more land brokerages to choose from today.
To be a ranch real estate professional with Capitol Ranch, first – you will need to have your Texas real estate license. It helps to have a college degree with an emphasis in Agriculture, Wildlife, or Business. Any prior experience working on ranches, managing acreage, wildlife or livestock, or developing land tracts is also helpful, but not necessary. Personal drive, effective communication skills, ethics, character, access to buyer and seller prospects, and business savvy are more important than hands-on ranch experience. Most of our training is done on the job. In order to be the most successful in ranch real estate, you must commit yourself by doing it full-time, developing new client prospect relationships, and constantly promoting your company and services. There is more opportunity selling residential homes because there are more of them. There are much fewer land and ranch buyers and sellers, and there are many more ranch real estate agents and competition each year. Saying this, being a ranch real estate sales professional is a very rewarding and lucrative career that we love.
